Position Summary

Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, Build members and the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s cause and impact.

Essential Functions

  • Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests.
  • Supervises a group of youth grades K-5.
  • Implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally proper, and consistent with YMCA values.
  • Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Attends staff meetings, training, and unique events (family nights or YMCA events).
  • Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.

Requirements

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Must pass a background check (if applicable)
  • Prior experience working with school age Children is preferred.
  • Behavior Management experience within a School, Childcare, Camp setting or parenthood is preferred.
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training with the first 30 days of hire.
  • Completed health form within the first 30 days of hire.
