About the role

The School's Out team at the Central Community Branch YMCA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Out of School Time Coordinator. This position involves planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for school-aged children, assisting in staff recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring compliance with YMCA policies and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits and develops diverse staff and volunteer teams
  • Onboards and develops them for success
  • Maintains staff schedules and evaluates staff performance
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents, and community organizations
  • Evaluates children's progress and completes EEC progress reports bi-annually
  • Safeguards programs and services to meet community needs
  • Affords support to program parents through ongoing communication and events
  • Maintains compliance with state licensing regulations and staff/child records
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree related to youth development or education preferred
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience working with children under 13 in an educational setting, including at least one year in an administrative supervisory capacity
  • Oral, auditory, and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults
  • Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution, and diplomacy skills
  • Capable of directing daily administrative, program-related, and supervisory responsibilities
