About the role
The Department of Orthotics & Prosthetics/ College of Health Sciences, Education and Rehabilitation (CHER) is committed to preparing students to become competent professionals in orthotics and prosthetics, fostering a community of inquisitive, welcoming, engaging, and competent problem solvers passionate about person-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Aid and support instructors, fabrication, measurement, impression taking, modification, and fitting of upper limb prosthetics in the clinical portion of the Upper Limb Prosthetics course.
- Assist in monitoring patient models and ensuring student safety during lab sessions.
- Support course coordinators in managing the safety of students during fabrication and patient model evaluations and fittings.
- Maintain records of student participation on the Discussion Board.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- ABC Prosthetist (CP) and/or Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) certification
- Experience in Upper Limb Prosthetics patient care
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of Fabrication techniques
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
