Orthopedic Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner - Locum Coverage

About the role

This clinician role involves providing comprehensive orthopedic trauma surgery coverage in a Level 1 trauma center. The position emphasizes patient care across all ages, with responsibilities including hospital and ICU management, post-operative visits, and emergency support.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex trauma cases
• Perform OR procedures
• ICU and hospital rounding
• Provide ED support and consultations
• Deliver post-operative care
• Handle reductions and washout procedures using the EMR system
• Manage an average of 20 patients daily with RN support

Schedule

• Day shifts: 6am to 2pm on weekdays
• 24-hour call shifts on weekends

Requirements

• ACLS or ATLS certification
• Prescriptive authority
• Experience with orthopedic trauma procedures
• Board certification (negotiable)
• Relevant clinical experience
