Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage sports-related musculoskeletal injuries in surgical and non-surgical patients
• Perform advanced arthroscopic and open procedures on the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, and ankle
• Contribute to community athletic programs (preferred)
• Participate in call coverage and document clinical activities accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Engage in quality improvement, team meetings, and continuing education
• Optional involvement in clinical teaching or research through academic affiliations

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution with completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Active Maryland medical license or eligibility to obtain one

Skills

• Proficiency in arthroscopic techniques including ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, labral repairs, meniscal surgery, and cartilage restoration
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
• Experience with outreach and community engagement is a plus
