Orthodontic Dental Assistant/Records Clerk - Part Time

About the role

The Dental Assistant provides direct support to the dentist by preparing treatment areas, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a sterile and organized environment. The role also involves patient interaction, charting, and adherence to infection control standards to deliver quality dental care.

Responsibilities

• Aid the dentist in all chairside procedures.
• Take X-rays and process diagnostic images.
• Provide pre- and post-treatment instructions to patients.
• Maintain accurate treatment notes and charting.
• Prepare and sanitize treatment areas, instruments, and equipment.
• Support sterilization protocols and infection control guidelines.
• Take impressions for study models and appliances.
• Handle instrument sterilization and inventory management.
• Assist with suctioning and isolation during procedures.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols.
• Track and manage inventory and supply restocking.
• Assist the front office as needed with scheduling and patient inquiries.

Requirements

• Dental assisting experience required.

Qualifications

• X-Ray certification.
• BLS certification.
• 8-hour Infection Control certification.
• 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour (Based on experience).
