Ortho Service Line Coordinator-CST

About the role

Under supervision, assists in operations. May help set up the operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. May provide day-to-day guidance/direction to more junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Participates in time out procedures.
• Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Maintains operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepares patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Licenses and Credentials: Basic Life Support [BLS Certification], Certified Surgical Technologist [CST], Medical Technician [New Hampshire License].
• Experience: Three (3) years of diversified experience in the operating/procedure room, three to five (3-5) years required, and one (1) year of experience working and leading teams, three to five (3-5) years preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
• Ability to multitask, can work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.

$29.81 - $45.36/Hourly Grade 5
