About the role

The firm handles a broad spectrum of employment-related legal challenges, offering comprehensive and compassionate legal representation. The team is equipped to manage cases from initial consultation through resolution, including negotiation and litigation when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in employment law disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, and other workplace-related issues.
  • Develop and execute case strategies tailored to the specific facts and legal challenges of each matter.
  • Prepare detailed documentation and evidence to support claims, including medical records, witness statements, and financial impact assessments.
  • Negotiate settlements with employers, insurance companies, and opposing counsel to achieve favorable resolutions.
  • Litigate cases in court when disputes cannot be resolved through negotiation, including trial preparation and representation.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing case updates and guidance throughout the legal process.
  • Collaborate with a coordinated team of attorneys, case managers, and support staff to ensure structured case development and preparation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Oregon State Bar and good standing with no disciplinary history.
  • Proven experience in employment law, including litigation, negotiation, and case management.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters with precision, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal strategies and case details clearly to clients and courts.
  • Commitment to client advocacy, transparency, and ethical legal practice.
