About the role
We are seeking an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support our public sector client. This role involves designing secure, scalable Oracle Cloud Infrastructure architectures, standards, governance models, and hybrid-cloud frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Design Oracle Cloud Infrastructure architectures, frameworks, governance models, standards, and best practices for enterprise cloud adoption.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud solutions.
- Develop architecture documentation, roadmaps, platform assessments, and target-state designs using tools such as Visio or Abacus.
- Guide engineering teams and supplement technical skill sets across OCI architecture, cloud networking, infrastructure integration, security, and automation initiatives.
- Support hybrid integration and migration efforts involving on-premises infrastructure, cloud servers, network and VLAN configuration, backups, monitoring, alerts, and patching.
- Define high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud architecture patterns across OCI and related platforms.
- Support the expansion of Infrastructure-as-Code capabilities using Terraform, Ansible, APIs, CLI automation, and related DevOps practices.
- Provide input on SRE and DevOps practices, including monitoring, observability, SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including cloud architecture, platform services, governance, standards, and best practices.
- 4+ years of experience with hybrid infrastructure, including on-premises integrations, migrations, cloud servers, configuration, patching, backups, system monitoring, alerts, network configuration, and VLAN configuration.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud networking and secure cloud connectivity patterns.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, API automation, or CLI automation.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud security principles, controls, and secure architecture design.
- 2+ years of experience creating architecture documentation, solution designs, platform assessments, and roadmaps using tools such as Visio or Abacus.
- Experience with Oracle database technologies, including Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, and database licensing considerations.
- Experience with Oracle platforms and services such as Exadata, Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), Exadata Database Service Dedicated (ExaDB-D), Exascale, DBaaS, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Experience designing high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud architecture solutions.
- Strong ability to partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to define requirements and translate them into scalable cloud architecture solutions.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- 1+ years of experience with Cloud FinOps or cloud cost governance.
- Linux administration or network administration experience.
- Experience supporting SRE and DevOps practices, including monitoring, observability, SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
- Experience guiding engineering teams, establishing cloud standards, or supplementing cloud engineering skill sets.
- Experience supporting public sector or large enterprise cloud architecture initiatives.
Educational & Certification Requirements
- A current Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Professional or OCI Architect Associate certification is strongly preferred. Candidates should submit certification credentials when available.
