Oracle Cloud Architect

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not every team knows how. As an Oracle Cloud Architect, you’ll design cloud-based technical architectures that meet client needs and leverage cloud capabilities. This role offers the chance to apply your cloud architecture skills to improve mission-critical applications and products, developing cloud-based solutions for some of the nation’s toughest challenges. You’ll use the latest cloud technologies to enhance client environments, inform strategy and design, and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process. Your technical experience will guide recommendations for tools and solutions, drawing on your knowledge of on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. Collaborating with your team, you’ll help clients overcome their most difficult cloud challenges while growing your skills in areas like AI and developing critical systems for the defense industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-based technical architectures tailored to client needs using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) capabilities.
• Inform strategy and design, ensuring standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.
• Recommend tools and solutions based on research of the current environment and knowledge of on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources.
• Collaborate with industry leaders and your team to address client challenges in the cloud.
• Create advanced OCI solutions, including production geospatial solutions from concept to operations and maintenance (O&M).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software with a cloud-first development approach.
• 3+ years of experience with OCI services and cloud-native architecture patterns, including Compute, Autonomous Database, Exadata Database, security policies, security groups, and network security.
• 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience working with containerization, including Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Experience developing and deploying production geospatial solutions from concept to O&M.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience with OCI enterprise solutions, or 9+ years of experience with OCI enterprise solutions in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation.
• Experience designing solutions to enable migration from AWS to OCI.
• Experience with OCI AI, ML, and LLM offerings.
• Experience designing OCI solutions optimized for geospatial workloads.
• Experience leading technical initiatives in large-scale environments.
• Experience with system design, including scalability and reliability.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• OCI Certifications such as OCI Architect or OCI Developer Certifications.
• IAT Level II certification such as Security+ or CISSP Certifications.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work model expectations:

• Remote: Primarily remote work, with occasional in-person requirements at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required by the role.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
