Ophthalmologist - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the role

This position is for an Ophthalmologist (MD) to deliver inpatient and outpatient ophthalmology services, with a primary focus on retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) care within a NICU setting. The role includes ambulatory clinic coverage on Tuesdays, NICU rounds on Wednesdays, and additional PRN clinic coverage when ROP treatment is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient NICU rounds from 7 AM to 1 PM.
• Provide outpatient clinic duties, including ROP assessments and treatment.
• Support staff vacation coverage as needed.
• Cover approximately 8 weeks annually, with a flexible schedule including day and night shifts.

Requirements

• Board certification in Ophthalmology (mandatory).
• Experience performing NICU ROP assessments and outpatient care.
• Ability to work on-site in a hospital and clinic setting.

Schedule

• Ambulatory clinics: Tuesdays.
• NICU rounds: Wednesdays.
• PRN clinic coverage for ROP treatment as needed.
• No call duties.
