Working under the direction of the Associate Director, Physician Services, this position is responsible for build, maintenance, and problem solving in FlowCast and other Physician Services supporting applications. The Operations Support Specialist provides support to over 50 Erlanger multi-specialty practices and enhances the training program that integrates new information systems solutions into user workflow. Promotes a high level of customer satisfaction during patient and client interactions while maintaining confidentiality of patient information according to HIPAA and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively creates, builds, and maintains provider schedules.
  • Completes provider requests timely and accurately.
  • Works with clinic management to determine scheduling needs and implement effectively.
  • Accurately creates new provider/location and billing areas in FlowCast and works closely with Meridian to solve issues and provide resolution to management.
  • Provides telephone support by answering calls in a timely and polite manner, reflecting the highest quality of customer service.
  • Supports Registration, Insurance, TES Edits, Copay collection, and ETM.
  • Performs end user training and supervises/assists Training Coordinator I.
  • Performs other job duties and special projects as assigned by management.
  • Develops Registration project plans for acquisitions and provides onsite support.
  • Demonstrates analytical ability and an understanding of the revenue cycle and practice operations.
  • Participates in a team-based approach to care, coordinating care for patients and supporting patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.
  • Manages the practices' patient population and participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or 5-10 years of medical or customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills, including understanding of Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Solid experience in FlowCast, IDX Centricity, Ebridge, Invision, Cerner, or Epic systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance guidelines.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related degree.
  • Preferred: GE IDX/FlowCast or Epic Certification.

Location: Physician Practices, Chattanooga, TN. Standard full-time hours.
