Essential Responsibilities
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the operations department which may include calendaring, creating correspondence, developing reports, planning meetings and events, answering phones and other duties as assigned.
- Determines and maintains employee schedules, hours worked, vacation approvals, etc. to ensure that attendance records are properly maintained.
- Courteously and tactfully assists customers, business partners, employees and vendors.
- Solves complex internal or external customer issues.
- Generates purchase orders, follows up with vendors and enters repair orders on the fleet maintenance system.
- Schedules and monitors shipping and receiving.
- Ensures that all export standards are met.
- Takes inventory and tracks commodities.
- Schedules service and assigns drivers for special pick-ups, reassignment and arranges alternate coverage in case of employee absences or equipment failure.
- Audits routes to verify customer service levels. Reports route discrepancies to the appropriate manager.
- Aids the Operations Manager with route maintenance and sequencing activities to ensure route optimization.
- Five years of related administrative experience.
- Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
- Basic computer programs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
