Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the operations department which may include calendaring, creating correspondence, developing reports, planning meetings and events, answering phones and other duties as assigned.
  • Determines and maintains employee schedules, hours worked, vacation approvals, etc. to ensure that attendance records are properly maintained.
  • Courteously and tactfully assists customers, business partners, employees and vendors.
  • Solves complex internal or external customer issues.
  • Generates purchase orders, follows up with vendors and enters repair orders on the fleet maintenance system.
  • Schedules and monitors shipping and receiving.
  • Ensures that all export standards are met.
  • Takes inventory and tracks commodities.
  • Schedules service and assigns drivers for special pick-ups, reassignment and arranges alternate coverage in case of employee absences or equipment failure.
  • Audits routes to verify customer service levels. Reports route discrepancies to the appropriate manager.
  • Aids the Operations Manager with route maintenance and sequencing activities to ensure route optimization.
  • Qualifications

    • Five years of related administrative experience.
    • Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
    • Basic computer programs.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
