Operations Supervisor, Warehouse

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day warehousing functions at a specific distribution center or cross dock. The role involves leading a team to meet operational goals and supporting the Assistant Warehouse Manager by managing inventory and assigning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely reporting of loads/returns compliance within industry fair standards and the agreed upon communication mechanism
• Participates in goal setting and takes accountability for results
• Enforce company compliance standards
• Support an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
• Communicate shift goals of facility; work with and motivate employees to ensure goal achievement; provide progress or constraint updates to management
• Enforce location safety management plans
• Demonstrate reliability and commitment to punctuality
• Perform other duties as assigned (may vary based on client requirements)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Experience with leading a team to goal achievement, prior supervisory experience a plus
• Ability to prioritize and organize work, along with a strong follow-up, analytical, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with team members and management
• Ability to work overtime (as needed) to meet operational and customer demands
• Capability to multi-task with excellent time management skills
• Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years or more of experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred
• Systems Preferred: WMS experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regularly required to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Occasionally required to maneuver about the work areas and move/manipulate various objects
• May occasionally need to lift up to 100 pounds
• Extended work hours and travel may be required
