Operations Specialist - South Watford Gathering
The Operations Specialist is responsible for safe operation of gathering systems and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Aid in capital projects and daily operations involving the gathering system.
- Support compressor maintenance and related equipment.
- Perform minor repairs under supervision.
- Pig pipelines regularly to ensure efficient operation.
- Conduct measurement duties, such as sample pulling and report filling.
- Carry out daily checks of compressor stations and fill out reports.
- Respond to callouts on equipment and compressors promptly.
- Report all unsafe and environmental issues to the supervisor.
- Manage company vehicles and equipment.
- Seek out and implement new operational methods.
- Report excessive downtime to relevant parties.
- Assist in other business areas as needed.
- Maintain company vehicles appropriately.
- Comply with company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering systems, and processing plant operations.
- Working knowledge of mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer orientation.
- Ability to effectively communicate in various settings.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Quick and reasonable decision-making ability.
- Ability to react quickly to visual, aural, and other signals.
- Valid state operating license with a driving record insurable under company insurance standards.
Working Conditions
- Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment/tools.
- Climbs and works at various heights.
- Works in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouching, or kneeling position.
- Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, lifts loads up to 50 lbs., manually transports loads up to 75 lbs., and applies up to 150 pounds of torque.
- Rides over rough roads and walks an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day.
- Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Subject to overtime and callouts.
- Works mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment.
- May work in hazardous conditions including hydrocarbon vapor, adverse weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.
- Wears safety equipment as required.
- Required to pass a SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) fit test and screening as a condition of employment.
