About the role

The Operations Risk Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance and legal readiness across Pacific Life's operations. This position requires a strong background in annuities and a keen eye for identifying issues that need compliance or legal review.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in team case review discussions, sharing insights and learning from peers.
  • Independently research and respond to cases from Operations or Office of General Counsel (OGC), covering both Life and Annuities lines of business.
  • Follow established department standards for case handling and response, meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Support senior team members with good order review and auto approval of resolutions, adhering to established procedures.
  • Respond to urgent inquiries with appropriate priority to ensure immediate resolution.
  • Prepare cases for Resolutions committee presentations, ensuring clarity and timeliness in documentation.
  • Identify gaps in operations documentation and processes, escalating issues through appropriate channels.
  • Communicate risk-related trends through research, recommending solutions to leadership.
  • Complete necessary training for cross-line of business support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in an Annuity Call Center (Operations focused).
  • Familiarity with annuity products and features (not required to be Pacific Life specific).
  • Experience identifying matters requiring compliance or legal review, such as fraud, operational compliance reviews, and unusual, suspicious, or fraudulent activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, or regulatory guidance.
