Risk Operations Specialist
Our client operates within the fintech industry, focusing on providing business-to-business payment solutions that help small business owners manage financial operations more efficiently. The organization addresses challenges related to secure, regulatory-compliant money movement and user safety through a dedicated Risk & Compliance Team that works cross-functionally to protect the platform and its users from fraud, abuse, and prohibited activity.
About the Opportunity
The Risk Operations Specialist role supports the organization's risk decision-making processes, safeguarding users and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations. This position is critical for managing fraud detection and escalations, communicating with customers regarding account recovery, and contributing to risk-related projects and initiatives. The role directly impacts the integrity of payment operations and the safety of the user community.
Responsibilities
- Handle frontline fraud decisioning to support business needs
- Manage escalations related to risk decisioning through cross-functional collaboration
- Complete Zendesk tickets and written communications related to users, internal escalations, partnerships, or live payments according to prioritization
- Communicate with customers via phone regarding account recovery efforts
- Contribute to projects, collaborate with team members on squad tasks, and proactively drive new initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in risk, customer experience, or payment operations, preferably in fintech
- At least 1 year experience using Zendesk
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM MST
- Proven ability to maintain personal and group KPIs related to capacity and quality
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
- Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills and teamwork ability
- Bonus: Experience working on a global team
Pay
Annual base salary range is $75,000 to $85,000.
