About the role

The Operations Manager - Regional Distribution Center role at Target is a critical function within Logistics. This role focuses on regional or upstream distribution centers, target.com fulfillment centers, or import warehouses, positively impacting thousands of fellow team members and Target guests worldwide. Core responsibilities include fostering a "safety first" culture, maximizing productivity, growth, and development, creating a positive work environment, executing operational plans, achieving performance and budget goals, and keeping teams informed and coordinated across functions. Innovation and problem-solving are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a "safety first" culture through awareness, training, and accountability
  • Engage and motivate team members with ownership for productivity, growth, and development
  • Create a positive work environment through real-time observation and specific, constructive, and actionable feedback
  • Ensure operational plans are executed, performance and budget goals are achieved, and teams are kept informed and coordinated across functions
  • Innovate with new approaches to process and method, aiming for more efficiency and future process flow optimization
  • Find root causes to problems in an environment of calculated risk and testing
  • Commit to others by jumping in to help teams meet their business goals

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with the ability to engage and motivate others
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Good reasoning, conflict-management, and analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including the mezzanine platforms
  • Able to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to perform updates and operate systems and other programs within the Distribution Center, for example, ability to traverse conveyor crossovers

The pay range for this role is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00, based on several factors including labor markets and individual qualifications.
