Operations Manager 2nd

About the Role

John Soules Foods, a leading national producer of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook chicken and beef products, is seeking an Operations Manager for the 2nd shift at our Tyler, TX location. This role reports to the Plant Manager and oversees Plant Supervisors, with 10% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage staff: Hire, train, and mentor employees, and handle high-level human resources duties to ensure a productive and motivated workforce.
• Optimize processes: Analyze and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, and develop strategic plans to align daily tasks with company objectives.
• Manage resources and budget: Oversee budgets, allocate resources effectively, and manage procurement to control costs.
• Monitor performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze performance metrics, and prepare reports to identify areas for improvement and ensure goals are met.
• Ensure compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Coordinate and collaborate: Work with various departments to ensure seamless execution of projects and align operational strategies with overall business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience in a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of operational concepts and principles.
• Ability to perform complex tasks following established processes.
• Experience leading and directing the work of other employees, with full authority for personnel decisions.
• Familiarity with departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a professional office setting with standard office equipment, as well as regular visits to production facilities. During facility visits, exposure to cold, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, and moderate noise levels may occur.

Physical Demands

Requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands for tasks, reaching with arms, and verbal communication. Occasional lifting or moving of objects, as well as close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are necessary.
