About the Role
The Department of Radiology at University of Colorado Denver is seeking applicants for a full-time Emergency Imaging Radiologist faculty physician at any stage of their career (Sr. Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This is an open-track position with faculty able to select between the Academic/Tenure-Eligible and Clinical Practice pathways. The Emergency Department (ED) Division offers multiple faculty scheduling models designed to accommodate a variety of professional and lifestyle preferences:
- ED Daytime: Daytime schedule follows a workweek defined as seven consecutive days (Monday through Sunday). Shifts run from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with faculty typically working one week out of every two, totaling 182 shifts over a 52-week period.
- Fully Remote Nights: Three-person team providing overnight coverage for University Hospital from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Each physician works one out of every three weeks, resulting in approximately 17 weeks (about 4 months) of night shifts and 35 weeks (about 8 months) off each year.
- In-House Nights: Seven-person team providing overnight coverage at both University Hospital (tertiary care and Level I Trauma Center, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM) and Denver Health Medical Center (Level I Trauma Center, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM). Each team member works an average of two weeks out of seven, totaling 15 weeks per year.
- Swing Shifts: Various models available to support evening shifts until midnight.
Responsibilities
- Interpretation of all emergent imaging studies performed, including MR, CT, US, and CR/DR examinations.
- Participation in all aspects of the Department of Radiology’s clinical practice across multiple sites.
- Collaboration through interdisciplinary conferences.
- Participation in fellow and resident education.
- Regular interaction with referring providers in a highly collaborative setting.
Work Location
This role is expected to work onsite in Aurora, CO, or remotely within the United States.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed MD or DO from an accredited institution in the U.S., or equivalent for non-U.S. graduates.
- Colorado Medical License at time of hire.
- ABR certified or eligible.
- Radiology fellowship training.
Open Track: Selected candidates will choose between the Academic/Tenure-Eligible or Clinical Practice pathways based on their area of excellence.
Open Rank: Rank at appointment will be based on demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical practice, research, and/or service to the field.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is:
- Sr. Instructor: $450,000 - $550,000
- Assistant Professor: $450,000 - $550,000
- Associate Professor: $450,000 - $550,000
- Professor: $450,000 - $550,000
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless non-exempt. Total compensation includes generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions.
