Open Rank, Open Track – Section Chief of Interventional Radiology
Open-rank, open-track faculty position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Anschutz Medical Campus. Rank at appointment (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) will be determined by the candidate’s demonstrated contributions in teaching, clinical practice, research, and/or service.
About the role
The Department of Radiology seeks a Section Chief of Interventional Radiology to lead the clinical, educational, and research missions of the IR section. This full-time leadership role involves strategic oversight of section operations, clinical excellence, academic growth, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic vision, mentorship, and operational leadership for the IR section.
- Oversee clinical operations to ensure the highest standards of interventional radiology care.
- Collaborate with other departments to advance interdisciplinary patient care.
- Partner with the IR education lead to support fellows and teach over 40 residents.
- Participate in administrative decision-making, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Lead recruitment, retention, and professional development of IR faculty.
- Perform subspecialty interpretation, procedures, and weekend call duties shared by all section members.
Work location
Onsite at the main hospital in Aurora, CO. Faculty have access to personal workstations for occasional work-from-home duties.

Qualifications
- Licensed MD or DO from an accredited U.S. institution (or equivalent for non-U.S. graduates).
- Colorado medical license at time of hire.
- ABR certified or eligible.
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in clinical operations, education, and research.
- Proven record of academic achievement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Prior leadership roles at local and national levels.
- National reputation in Interventional Radiology.
Pay
Hiring range by rank:
- Assistant Professor: $435,000 – $485,000
- Associate Professor: $435,000 – $485,000
- Professor: $435,000 – $485,000
