Open-rank, 12-month, full-time exempt faculty position at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) Harlem campus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a content expert and teach human gross anatomy, including Clinical Anatomy and Embryology and Neuroanatomy courses for osteopathic medical students.
- Support the teaching mission of the department, fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
- Participate in faculty development, campus committee membership and leadership, curricular development, applicant interviews, and student advising.
- Perform independent research/scholarly activity and mentor student research.
- Contribute to the academic mission through professional service at the campus, university, and organizational levels (local, regional, national, and international).
- Additional teaching opportunities available for MS in Interdisciplinary Studies in Biological and Physical Sciences courses.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.O., M.D., or equivalent) in Anatomy or related field, or a master’s degree in Anatomy with two years of relevant teaching experience.
- Experience with human donor dissection required; experience with plastinated specimens and virtual anatomy resources preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to learn programs such as ExamSoft, iClicker, and online learning management systems (Canvas, Poll Everywhere, Zoom).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without direct supervision.
- Knowledge of and adherence to FERPA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
- Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- In-person position at the Harlem campus.
- Extensive computer use, including task trainers and simulators.
- Prolonged sitting and standing; ability to lift 5–10 lbs.
- Extended periods standing in a lab setting.
- Occasional travel to professional academic conferences, as approved by the Department Chair.
Pay
Salary range: $94,625 – $118,282 per year.
