Faculty position in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. This full-time, non-tenure-track role focuses on predoctoral didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical learning in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, and associated areas. Must be eligible for a Georgia Dental or Dental Faculty License.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching (60%)
    • Contribute to curriculum maintenance and innovation.
    • Support didactic and clinical learning for students, faculty, and peers in didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical settings using best evidence.
    • Mentor students/residents with oral health care in DMD and/or Advanced Education Programs (PROS, AEGD based on credentials).
    • Develop, administer, and provide informal/formal student performance assessment.
  • Scholarship (10%)
    • Collaborate with faculty and serve as mentor for student/residents regarding research and scholarly activities leading to presentations and publication.
  • Service (10%)
    • Public and professional service and institutional service.
  • Clinical/Patient Care (20%)
    • Maintain a quality patient care practice.
    • Adhere to quality standards for compliance with all DCG and AU policy regarding EHR documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for a Georgia Dental or Dental Faculty License.
  • Completion of DDS, DMD degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Assistant Professor: Early-level career as a faculty member with background, education, and training consistent with the position requirements.
  • Associate Professor: Mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor with background, education, and training consistent with the position requirements.
  • Professor: Senior-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor with background, education, and training consistent with the position requirements.
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher and activity as a scholar.
  • Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in advanced technologies, digital workflow, including dental implants.
  • Prior experience in dental education with demonstrated ability to work productively in didactic and clinical educational environments.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, and is subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at the time of hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and internal equity and market data.

Schedule

This is a fiscal year-based, full-time (1.0 FTE) position working year-round.
