Open Rank Dentistry Faculty, DCG-General Dentistry

Faculty position at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in General Dentistry.

About the role

The position is fiscal year based and works year-round with a 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE). This is a non-tenure track role with the following allocation of responsibilities:

• Teaching – 60%
• Scholarship – 10%
• Clinical/Patient Care – 20%
• Service – 10%

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic and clinical courses to predoctoral students, postgraduate residents, and peers.
• Oversee students' clinical activities, including treatment planning, professionalism, ethics, and private practice instruction.
• Obtain committee appointments within the Dental College of Georgia (DCG) and campus-wide.
• Complete required training by the department, DCG, and Augusta University.
• Provide patient care in the DCG faculty practice while maintaining quality standards and compliance with all DCG policies.
• Participate in departmental, DCG, and Augusta University committees.
• Complete annual compliance training.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for Georgia Dental Faculty Licensure.
• Hold a U.S. DDS, DMD, or foreign equivalent degree.
• Experience in General Dentistry.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for all academic ranks:

• Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
• Evidence of ability as a teacher.
• Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other assigned duties.
• Successful experience (waived for those entering the academic profession).
• Desirable personal qualities assessed through interview, biographical data, and recommendations.

Rank-specific qualifications:

• Assistant Professor: Early-career faculty member with background, education, and training consistent with the position.
• Associate Professor: Mid-career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor.
• Professor: Senior-level faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience.
• Experience in digital dentistry.
• Education in Digital Dentistry.
• Significant clinical experience or post-graduate training in general dentistry.
• Prior experience in dental education and working knowledge of practice management.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, internal equity, and market data.
