Open Rank Dentistry Faculty, DCG-Restorative Science

Faculty position in Restorative Sciences at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. This full-time, non-tenure-track role focuses on predoctoral didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical learning in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, and associated areas. Support of advanced training programs (AEGD and Prosthodontics) may be expected based on candidate experience and department mission. Opportunities for scholarship, service, and faculty practice are available.

Responsibilities

• Teaching (65%)
  • Support clinical learning for students, faculty, and peers in didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical settings using best evidence.
  • Supervise and mentor students/residents in oral health care for DMD and/or Advanced Education programs (Prosthodontics, based on credentials).
  • Develop, administer, and provide informal/formal student performance assessment.
  • Support program didactics.
• Service (10%)
  • Collaborate with faculty and mentor students/residents in research and scholarly activities leading to presentations and publications.
  • Obtain committee appointments within the Dental College of Georgia and campus-wide.
  • Complete required training mandated by the department, DCG, and Augusta University.
• Scholarship (5%)
  • Engage in scholarly activities consistent with departmental and institutional expectations.
• Clinical (20%)
  • Provide patient care in the DCG faculty practice while maintaining quality standards and compliance with all DCG policies.

Requirements

• U.S. DDS, DMD, or foreign equivalent.
• Eligibility for Georgia Dental License or Georgia Dental Faculty License.

Qualifications

• Assistant Professor: Early-career faculty member with background, education, and training consistent with position requirements.
• Associate Professor: Mid-career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor and qualifications meeting position requirements.
• Professor: Senior-level faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor and qualifications meeting position requirements.
• Evidence of ability as a teacher and activity as a scholar.
• Desirable personal qualities assessed through interview, biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in advanced technologies and digital workflow, including dental implants.
• American Board of Prosthodontics Certification or progress toward certification.
• Advanced training in Operative Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, or CODA-accredited Advanced Prosthodontics.
• Prior experience in dental education with demonstrated ability in didactic and clinical settings.
• History of publications and clinical experience.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, internal equity, and market data.

Schedule

This is a fiscal year-based, full-time (1.0 FTE) position working year-round.
