About the Role

We are seeking a clinical allergist/immunologist at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with expertise in the diagnosis and management of eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs), particularly eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). The candidate will join the Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Diseases Program (GEDP), a joint initiative between the Section of Allergy & Immunology and the Digestive Health Institute.

The successful applicant will receive three years of protected time to develop and expand the GEDP program across Children’s Hospital Colorado, the Anschutz Medical Campus, and the 7-state referral region, while conducting clinical research and securing funding for future EGID studies.

This role includes providing clinical care for patients with asthma, food allergy, allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, drug allergy, animal dander sensitivity, insect sting allergy, urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, and immunodeficiencies in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities encompass overseeing food challenges, drug challenges, and administering allergen immunotherapy at the main campus of Children’s Hospital Colorado and Network of Care locations.

The candidate will participate in 6–12 weeks of call coverage for the Section of Allergy and Immunology, including inpatient consultations, and contribute to the education of fellows, residents, and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Participate in GEDP Clinics, both in-state and out-of-state, including a weekly one-hour GEDP team meeting.
• Provide clinical services at the main campus of Children’s Hospital Colorado and potentially at Network of Care locations.
• Participate in call coverage for the Section of Allergy & Immunology, including inpatient consultations.
• Collaborate on EoE industry trials.
• Analyze data, prepare, and submit manuscripts describing the main findings of clinical studies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of a pediatric residency and an Allergy and Immunology Fellowship.
• Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
• State of Colorado medical license and DEA license obtained on or before the hire date.
• For Assistant Professor: At least one year of experience working with EGID patients, preferably in a defined EGID program at an academic center.
• For Associate Professor: At least five years of experience working with EGID patients, preferably in a defined EGID program at an academic center.

Preferred Qualifications

• For Assistant Professor:
  • Prior experience in the evaluation and management of patients with EGIDs, particularly EoE.
  • Experience with clinical research and patient management of emerging EGID treatments.
  • Experience in the evaluation and management of patients with food allergy, including performing food challenges.
  • Experience in the evaluation and management of primary immunodeficiencies.
  • Peer-reviewed publication history.
• For Associate Professor:
  • A minimum of six years of experience at or equivalent to the Assistant Professor rank.
  • Prior experience in the evaluation and management of patients with EGIDs, particularly EoE.
  • Experience in the evaluation and management of patients with food allergy, including performing food challenges.
  • Experience in the evaluation and management of primary immunodeficiencies.
  • Peer-reviewed publication history.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is:

• Assistant Professor: $187,000 to $200,000.
• Associate Professor: $210,000 to $235,000.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless non-exempt. Total compensation includes generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions.

Schedule

This is a full-time, onsite position located in Aurora, Colorado. The role includes 6–12 weeks of call coverage per year for the Section of Allergy and Immunology.
