ONCOLOGY PHARMACY TECHNICIAN PRN- Inpatient

Responsibilities

• Initiating or receiving communications with patient provider team members to facilitate patient care for: refill authorization requests, assisting in patient appointment review, medical records review, insurance authorization review, processing of prescriptions, including investigational medications utilized in clinical trials in compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and/or medications associated with Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS).
• Compounding, preparing and distributing pharmaceutical and investigational preparations following USP standards and hospital policy.
• Inventory stewardship, keeping records and making reports required by law, and processing of documents required by the hospital.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma/GED – required
• Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or have experience that qualifies them for licensure as outlined in Florida Statutes, Section 465.014.
• Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician
• Newly graduated from Pharmacy Technician Training program and/or less than 1 year as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT)
• Experience with unit dose, pharmacy orders and inventory computer systems; I.V. admixtures is preferred (experience can include internship hours) – preferred
