Responsibilities
- Medication Order Processing: Transcribe medication orders into the computerized medical record system, ensuring all information is complete as per protocol and policy. Process prescriptions and new orders for pharmacist review.
- Fulfilling Medication Orders: Arrange and deliver medications in the correct order of priority, count accurately, affix neat and precise labels, and document procedures in inventory management systems.
- Non-sterile and Sterile Compounding: Prepare parenteral dosage forms using aseptic techniques in line with departmental policies, USP standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Delivery of Medications: Ensure medications are prepared and delivered according to storage requirements and stability needs.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine quality checks on extemporaneous and commercial medications, IV solutions, and equipment, verifying expiration dates, recalls, and signs of deterioration.
- Inventory Management: Receive and store medications and supplies according to inventory control policies. Maintain stock levels and report on inventory issues.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent experience qualifying for Florida Statutes Section 465.014 licensure.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician certification.
Pay
Salary range: $23.25 - $23.25
