Position Details:
- Position Type: Volunteer
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: ~3–5 Hours/Week
- Reports To: Volunteer Program Manager
- Alternative Reporting: Chief Volunteer Officer
What You’ll Do (Impact: ~3–5 Hours/Week)
- Intake & Pipeline Management
- - Track applicants from initial application through final placement
- - Maintain visibility of all candidates in the onboarding pipeline
- - Ensure timely movement of volunteers through each stage
- Candidate Scheduling & Communication
- - Schedule interviews or introductory calls with leadership/team leads
- - Send confirmations, updates, reminders, and welcome communications
- - Provide a professional and positive first impression of VPMMA
- Documentation & Orientation
- - Track required forms and onboarding documentation
- - Coordinate volunteer orientation sessions
- - Confirm facilitators and logistics for each onboarding session
- Volunteer Integration
- - Answer onboarding questions from new volunteers
- - Guide volunteers through next steps after orientation
- - Coordinate handoff to managers/team leads for placement
- Reporting & Process Improvement
- - Provide updates to leadership regarding onboarding activity and pipeline status
- - Maintain current onboarding procedures and resources in the knowledge base
- - Recommend process improvements for a smoother volunteer experience
- Cross-Functional Support
- - Assist with recruitment messaging, volunteer communications, and HR-related announcements as needed

- Tech-Savvy
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, spreadsheets, shared drives, or tracking systems
- Mission-Driven
- Passionate about supporting veterans, service members, and military spouses

- Maintain confidentiality of applicant and organizational information
