About the Role
Office supervisor will lead a team of three health care representatives supporting the front desk functions of the Counseling and Psychological Services unit. This team will assist students with scheduling and checking in for their counseling appointments in the electronic health record. The position functions as a working supervisor, able to perform the duties of subordinates for coverage during lunch, breaks, vacations, and other absences.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a team of three health care representatives, including hiring, orientation, time tracking, training, and performance management.
- Support front desk operations, including student scheduling and check-in for counseling appointments.
- Perform subordinate duties to cover absences (e.g., lunch, breaks, vacations).
Requirements
- Knowledge equivalent to that acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational, or business school with coursework in office management and business.
- One to three years of related and progressively responsible work experience in office management, budget preparation, financial and administrative record-keeping, and secretarial skills.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, and/or web page design or presentation software.
- One to three years of supervisory experience.
- Experience performing operational activities in a relevant unit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business (desired).
- Three or more years of experience in a health care, counseling, or mental health services setting providing administrative support to upper management and direct supervision of staff, including work in a unionized setting (desired).
- Excellent organizational, planning, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and patient scheduling software.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
Schedule
Standard 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Health Risks
- Exposure to TB and human tissue.
- Direct patient contact, including working within three feet of patients.
