About the role
The intern will assist the Office Services Unit in supporting agency operations, gaining practical experience in administration and government operations. This includes exposure to administrative processes, records management, inventory and fleet management, warehouse operations, print and mail services, data management, customer service, and project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Data entry
- Special projects
- Records management
- Inventory control and asset tracking
- Print operations and fleet management activities
- Participate in ongoing projects designed to improve efficiency and maintain accurate records
- Support statewide Office Services operations
Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university, or graduate program outside of New York State*
- Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two- or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
- Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent
Skills
- Knowledge of various software, including Excel and Word
- Project coordination
- Professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree concentrations in Financial Studies, Business Administration, or Management
- Preferred minimum education level: Sophomore
- Preferred maximum education level: Senior
