Off-Road Haul Truck Driver

About the role

We are seeking candidates for an Off-Road Haul Truck Driver position at our VA SMA operations in Staunton, VA. The successful candidate will have familiarity and experience operating articulated and/or rigid frame haul trucks with an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul trucks to remove overburden and stripping material for quarry production.
• Operate haul trucks to move shot rock from the pit to the crusher and begin the crushing process, as needed.
• Perform daily pre-op and post-op inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills applicable to the position.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Perform general laborer and clean-up duties on the ground and in the plant as needed/directed.

Requirements

• Dedication to safe work practices.
• Previous experience operating both rigid frame haul trucks and/or articulating haul trucks preferred.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License required.

Pay

Starting wages at $21.00/hr, with potential for higher based on verifiable experience.
