Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA

About the role

VCU Health at Home by BAYADA has an immediate opening for a Part Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide visits for our Richmond, VA home health office covering North of the River in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, helping them maintain a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity.
• Work as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Help clients achieve their goals through occupational therapy services.

Requirements

• Be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the state of Virginia.
• Willingness to travel in assigned territory.
• Graduated from an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), or meet the requirements for initial qualification before December 31, 1977.
• At least one year's work experience under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, or two years of appropriate experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and a satisfactory grade on a proficiency exam conducted, approved or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and principles.
• Basic computer skills.
