Responsibilities
- Administers occupational therapy in compliance with Federal, State, local, and Community First Solutions’ standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Implements strategies and interacts with staff members and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and quality care to residents.
- Interacts with residents, families, support groups, staff members, and other health professionals to ensure maximum rehabilitation to the resident while serving as resident advocate.
- Completes Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments, plan of care, assessments, and discharge orders in a timely manner.
- Must comply with OSHA standards and ensure the safety of the residents under their care at all times.
- Co-signs all medical record documentation written by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) and provides ongoing guidance and support to COTA.
- Analyzes data and provides recommendations for residents’ care and home assessments.
- Adheres to the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Code of Ethics, infection control policies, professional therapeutic services, and Community First Solutions standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
- Welcomes and onboards new employees.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program (Master’s degree preferred).
- Licenses or other required certifications: Current Ohio License in Occupational Therapy. CPR certification.
- Experience: At least two years’ experience, preferably in a long-term health care setting.
