ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Affirms continued competency through professional development.
- Directs certified occupational therapy assistants collaboratively, adhering to AOTA guidelines and regulations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legislative, political, social, cultural, and reimbursement issues affecting patients and occupational therapy practice.
- Systematically evaluates occupational therapy services and implements strategies to enhance service delivery quality.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Current state licensure as an occupational therapist.
- New graduates must obtain Virginia state licensure within 90 days of employment as an Occupational Therapist.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of occupational therapy treatment and modalities.
- Experience with administering various assessment tools, treatment plans, and equipment.
- Ability to meet on-call requirements of the department.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to performing certain patient care activities.
