About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy, focusing on improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life in a skilled nursing setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop, assess, and modify individualized treatment plans for patients based on physician referrals.
- Oversee and evaluate therapy provided by OT Assistants, aides, and students.
- Document patient progress accurately and timely using therapy software.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Establish realistic and measurable goals to promote patient recovery and independence.
- Follow safety procedures, maintain patient rights, and uphold confidentiality standards.
- Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate.
- Assist in patient evacuation when necessary and demonstrate dependable attendance.
- Maintain professional relationships, adhere to company policies, and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Registered or licensed in the applicable state, with NBCOT certification (renewal optional).
- Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate good body mechanics.
- Knowledge of post-acute care regulations, safety procedures, and patient rights.
