About the role
Inpatient Occupational Therapist responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care within professional standards. Acts as a resource, participates in educational activities, and supports staff development.
Responsibilities
- Provides evidence-based, effective patient care including assessment, treatment planning, DME recommendations, and discharge planning.
- Ensures accurate, timely documentation reflecting patient needs, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicates professionally with patients, families, and team members, maintaining schedules and documentation standards.
- Participates in staff meetings, process improvement, continuing education, and acts as a resource and preceptor for new staff and students.
- Contributes to program goals, clinical system development, and quality improvement activities.
- Supports development and review of treatment guidelines and serves as a clinical instructor for students and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proficient in evaluation and treatment approaches, with potential advanced competencies.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
