Occupational Therapist-Hand Therapist (Non CHT)

About the role

NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Hand Therapist/Occupational Therapist for our outpatient orthopedic center. Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, we are willing to consider occupational therapists with a level II fieldwork in hands (required). We have a network of hand therapists and CHTs available for support and are excited to mentor occupational therapists aspiring to be a CHT.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and create individualized plans of care for patients
• Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment from evaluation through discharge
• Maintain positive interactions with centers and patients
• Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff
• Stay current with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (research, clinician expertise, patient perception)
• Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management

Requirements

• Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)-accredited school of occupational therapy
• CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre- and post-op orthopedic procedures
• Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred
