NovaCare Rehabilitation at Carroll Hospital, in partnership with LifeBridge Health, is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists (OTs) for local PRN/per diem opportunities in Westminster, MD. Previous inpatient OT experience is required.

About the role

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers, and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.

Schedule

Weekday, weekend, and holiday per diem (PRN) coverage. The hospital operates year-round, weekdays 8 AM–4:30 PM, including most holidays. PRN/per diem positions do not have a guaranteed schedule; coverage opportunities are offered on an as-needed basis.

Pay

$55.00/hour

Responsibilities

  • Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
  • Build relationships: enhance, develop, and expand relationships with referral sources and maintain a positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
  • Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency, and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
  • Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how OTs may practice and whom they may supervise.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Supervise and delegate occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs and demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for occupational therapy.
  • State Occupational Therapist license (or license eligible).
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
