Occupational Therapist - Acute Care
About the Role
A licensed or registered Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled therapy services to patients experiencing disruptions in daily activities due to illness or injury. The role involves evaluating and developing individualized treatment plans, considering discharge needs and functional goals. You will establish and implement treatment strategies, including appropriate equipment and supplies, educate and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and make referrals to specialists when necessary.
You will delegate tasks to assistants, technicians, and students, ensuring interventions meet patient needs based on skill levels, and complete documentation complying with departmental policies. The role also includes providing assessments, re-evaluations, and consultations for occupational therapy services.
Responsibilities
- Deliver therapy in acute care settings, including orthopedics, neuro, general medicine, and ICU.
- Participate in a schedule of four 9-hour days with weekend rotations.
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to departmental policies.
- Support patient health maintenance and community re-entry through personalized therapy services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's preferred).
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- No prior experience required.
