Occupational Therapist - Acute Care (Adults)

About the Role

Provides occupational therapy services by assessing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress to enhance independence in daily activities. Supervises assistants and technicians, offers guidance to students and interns, and may assist in program development.

Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive evaluations and interpreting findings
• Creating and executing individualized care plans with measurable goals
• Delivering direct patient care and basic occupational therapy treatments
• Supervising staff and mentoring students/interns
• Documenting patient progress accurately and efficiently
• Communicating effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
• Ensuring safety and adherence to organizational policies
• Supporting professional growth through continuing education and mentorship

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current or temporary license to practice in the relevant state
• Basic Life Support certification
• Physical ability to lift, stand, walk, and perform fine motor tasks
