Occupational Therapist, Acute Care (Adults)

About the role

Provides occupational therapy services, including patient assessment, developing and implementing treatment plans to enhance independence across life skills. Supervises assistants and technicians, offers guidance to students and interns, and may assist in program development.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive evaluations, interprets findings, and creates individualized care plans with measurable goals
• Implements basic occupational therapy treatments, monitors patient progress, and adjusts plans as needed
• Educates patients and caregivers, documents clinical activities accurately, and communicates effectively with healthcare team members
• May serve as a clinical instructor and participate in professional presentations

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Valid license from the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners and BLS certification
• Ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds, stand, walk, and perform fine motor tasks
• Strong communication skills, attention to safety, and commitment to professional growth
• Demonstrates compassion, efficiency, and adherence to organizational standards
