Responsibilities
- Assess patients, develop and implement treatment plans to improve independence across physical, cognitive, perceptual, and developmental areas
- Provide direct patient care, document findings and progress, and instruct patients and caregivers
- Supervise assistants and technicians, and support program development
- May assist in training students and interns, and serve as a clinical instructor
- Ensure safe, personalized, and efficient care while adhering to organizational policies
- Effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments as needed, and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
Bachelor's or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Skills
- Ability to perform lifting, prolonged standing, walking, stooping, squatting
- Fine hand dexterity
- Excellent communication
- Ability to monitor instruments and recognize visual cues
Licenses/Certifications
Current or temporary license to practice Occupational Therapy in Texas and Basic Life Support certification.
