Occupational Health -Early Intervention Coordinator / RN

Our occupational health and safety professionals staff, operate, and manage clinics located within organizations to maximize return on investment. We use an initial assessment phase to create a strategic plan to guide our work and client relationships.

Responsibilities
- Clinical Care
- Provide nursing assessment and interventions within the scope of practice of the registered nurse (RN).
- Evaluate employees with work-related injuries and illnesses and/or personal medical conditions for their fitness for duty.
- Provide first aid/initial treatment and triage for site employees and contractors who experience work-related injuries.
- Provide return-to-work clearance for employees.
- Perform required screens and manage the credentialing program.
- Provide pre-employment and annual physicals.
- Offer educational programs to employees.
- Collaborate with the client’s staff and lead or participate in special projects assigned by client leadership.
- Medical Surveillance
- Conduct and/or manage all required surveillance examinations.
- Provide medical surveillance support (testing and tracking) for client employees.
- Complete required physical assessments of employees and perform other selected tests as needed.
- Review health assessments and communicate fitness-for-work determinations to management.
- Medical Emergency Response
- Provide first-line injury and illness care for work-related conditions.
- Deliver emergency medical response as required.
- Interface with local hospitals and emergency medical providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Workers Compensation Case Management
- Provide personal and work-related injury case management as defined by the client’s policies and guidelines.
- Offer medical advice/input to site leadership on work-relatedness of injuries/illnesses.
- Organize independent medical examinations as appropriate and in coordination with the client.
- Health Promotion Program Role
- Promote and support client wellness programs.
- Medical Record Management
- Provide adequate clinical documentation of services, including electronic medical records and traditional paper records, maintained in compliance with local law and medical practice.
- Administrative Duties
- Faxing, scanning, and copying documents.
- Answering phones and managing clinic scheduling.
- Medical waste management.
- Clinic stocking, purchasing, and expensing.
- Exporting and importing test results.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.
- BLS Certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent desirable.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing is desirable.
- Experience in Medical Surveillance and Workers Compensation Case Management.
- Ability to organize, plan, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency in using and learning technology, such as Microsoft programs and other tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience.
- 2-5 years of occupational health nursing preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of anatomy & physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors, and ergonomics.
- Certification in Hearing Conservation and Spirometry is desirable.
- Working knowledge of laws, standards, and safety regulations in occupational health (OSHA, FMLA, Workers Compensation).
- Familiarity with epidemiology, safety, industrial hygiene, wellness, and behavioral change theory.
- Emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and motivation.

Schedule
40 hours a week. Primary hours are dayshift, Monday - Friday with rotating call with the Leadership Team.
