Occupancy Specialist

About the Role

The Occupancy Specialist is responsible for the recertification process at apartment communities in Salem, MA, including all aspects of recertifications, program compliance, and resident relations.

• Processing and collecting resident information including 3rd party verification
• Determining eligibility for continued occupancy
• Leasing and showing apartments
• Processing potential resident applications
• Processing interim certifications as needed
• Ensuring proper calculation of income, assets, and rent levels

Experience with Project-Based Section 8, EIV, and LIHTC is required. COS certification is a plus.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in property management with EIV experience
• Knowledgeable about affordable housing programs, LIHTC, federally-assisted, and all State and local housing regulations
• Proficiency in the administration of government housing assistance programs such as LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, and EIV
• Knowledge of OneSite and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Strong communication, organizational, writing, and computer skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• High degree of organization and attention to detail in document/file maintenance
• Proficient understanding of basic math concepts
• Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated

$68,000–$70,000 per year
