About the Role
The Occupancy Specialist is responsible for the recertification process at apartment communities in Salem, MA, including all aspects of recertifications, program compliance, and resident relations.
- Processing and collecting resident information including 3rd party verification
- Determining eligibility for continued occupancy
- Leasing and showing apartments
- Processing potential resident applications
- Processing interim certifications as needed
- Ensuring proper calculation of income, assets, and rent levels
Experience with Project-Based Section 8, EIV, and LIHTC is required. COS certification is a plus.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in property management with EIV experience
- Knowledgeable about affordable housing programs, LIHTC, federally-assisted, and all State and local housing regulations
- Proficiency in the administration of government housing assistance programs such as LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, and EIV
- Knowledge of OneSite and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong communication, organizational, writing, and computer skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- High degree of organization and attention to detail in document/file maintenance
- Proficient understanding of basic math concepts
- Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
