Starting rate: $22.41/hour (non-negotiable). A 6-month probationary period applies. Pay increases are based on length of service, advancement, and contractual factors. This position is represented by the AFSCME union.

About the Role
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Occupancy Specialist provides case management services for low-income housing programs. Responsibilities include ensuring tenant eligibility and compliance with applicable regulations, maintaining accurate customer files, and scheduling interviews to complete compliance paperwork.

Requirements
- Associate degree or higher (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree)
- May substitute 4 years of experience with HUD housing programs (e.g., HCV, VASH, Public Housing, PBV, PBRA, CoC) in lieu of an Associate Degree
- At least two years of experience in one of the following: Voucher Program, LIHTC Program, or Property Management
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License
- Must obtain Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy or Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) certification within 1 year of hire
- Must obtain Blended Occupancy (including LIHTC) certification within 2 years of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Four or more years of experience in Voucher Program, LIHTC, or Property Management
- HCV Occupancy certificate, Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), LIHTC certification, or HQS Certification
