About the Role
Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the Birth Center while functioning as the focal communications source at the Birth Center nursing station. Assists nursing staff with patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including providing assistance in the delivery room to nurses and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Processes orders, completes necessary forms, and notifies consultants
- Files test results in patient charts
- Processes patient charges
- Takes vital signs, feeds infants, gives newborn baths, changes bed linen, and assists patients in ambulation as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Knowledge of keyboard/computer
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience or training as a Unit Clerk
- Previous work experience as an OB Technician/Nurse Aide
Schedule
- Full-time, day shift
- Daily work times: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Hours per pay period: 72
