OB Technician | Obstetrics, Part-Time, 3rd Shift (Benefit Eligible)

About the role
We are seeking an OB Technician to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in the OR environment, with experience in surgical technician or OB technician roles. Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or STNA is also considered.
Responsibilities
- Sets up vaginal delivery tables; prepares supplies, instruments and equipment for deliveries and surgical procedures;
- Opens sterile supplies, sets up the operating room (OR) for cesarean sections and performs scrub duties;
- Labels and prepares specimens for pathology;
- Supports licensed nurses by assuming responsibility for direct and indirect patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living, personal care, comfort measures, and maintaining a safe and clean environment;
- Charges supplies accurately;
- Collates patient data such as vital signs, weights, input and output, and pain scores, identifying and reporting significant findings to the licensed nurse;
- Documents findings and care within established timeframes;
- Assists patients with calling for transportation as needed;
- Maintains the overall appearance of lobbies and entrances;
- Assists and directs patients regarding the registration process and hospital procedures;
- Communicates professionally and appropriately at all times with staff, patients, and visitors;
- Maintains accurate employee records;
- Demonstrates the concept of teamwork;
- Serves as a primary resource for patients and guests by greeting, instructing, and directing patients in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner;
- Serves as a liaison between patients, staff, and other departments;
- Demonstrates being proactive and solution-focused;
- Provides wheelchair assistance as needed;
- Responds to inquiries and directs parties to appropriate authority;
- Responds to emergencies outside normal working hours (internal and external disasters);
- Works rotating shifts, required to work weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled or assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of high school education supplemented with coursework or experience demonstrating basic knowledge of patient care techniques;
- Strong clinical knowledge of OR environment;
- Surgical Technician or OB Technician experience preferred;
- Medical Assistant and STNA experience may be considered;
- Obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain continuous certification;
- Obtain Behavioral Health & De-Escalation training (BHDT) within six (6) months of employment and maintain annual certification;
- Surgical Technologist certification is preferred.

Pay
Shift: 3rd Hours 72 per pay (Every two weeks).

Rotating shifts, required to work weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled or assigned.
