OB Tech -Labor and Delivery - Night Shift

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $24.86 – $37.29 (determined by expertise, experience, and other factors).

Schedule

• Part‑time, 12 hours/week (24 hours total).
• Shift: 7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Rotating weekends and holidays.
• No required travel.

Location

Northwest Community Hospital – Arlington Heights, IL.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse for women of childbearing age and their newborns.
• Perform surgical scrub duties before, during, and after surgery, assisting the surgical team.
• Supply the surgeon with correct instruments and equipment while maintaining the sterile field.
• Count sponges and instruments with the circulating nurse and apply sterile dressings at case completion.
• Collect and deliver specimens as needed.
• Clean the operating room, instruments, and equipment per established procedures and restock for the next case.
• Dispose of hazardous medical waste in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Maintain skill level to scrub for C‑sections and other approved surgical procedures.
• Select and prepare supplies, equipment, and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Assist patients with personal care needs (bathing, bedpan use, positioning, responding to call lights).
• Perform procedures such as thermal applications, perineal care, emptying Foley bags, and bed making.
• Obtain point‑of‑care testing, record scaled weights, and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Transport non‑controlled‑substance medications.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (Illinois Department of Public Health) – required.
• BLS – Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) – American Heart Association – required.
• Previous patient‑care experience or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation – preferred.
