About the role
Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during obstetrical operations in the Operating Room of the Labor and Delivery unit.
Responsibilities
- Understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- Ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure.
- Maintains the sterile field at all times.
- Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
Qualifications
- Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Work Experience: Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required, or 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required, or 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting required.
- Licenses and Certifications: BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required, NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.
